Protest for Nnamdi Kanu: Police to deal ruthlessly with IPOB



– The Delta state police command says it has intelligence report that IPOB members are planning to embark on protest in the state – Warns that it will deal ruthlessly with any person or group of persons who attempts to cause the breach of peace for whatever reason – Tells parents and guardians to advise their children or wards not to join any form of protest The Delta state police command has warned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to desist from holding protests in Delta state or face arrest. READ ALSO: EXCLUSIVE: Army moves to investigate harassment on Nnamdi Kanu’s relatives According to PM News, the command in a statement issued by the public relations officer, SP Celestina Kalu, said it had intelligence report that IPOB members were planning to embark on protest today, September 23. It warned that it will deal ruthlessly with any person or group of persons who attempts to cause the breach of peace for whatever reason. The command said: “The Delta Police Command and it’s personnel have been fully briefed on the SOP and rules of engagement and have been deployed and briefed to deal ruthlessly with any person or group of persons who attempts to cause the breach of peace for whatever reason.” READ ALSO: Bishops flee Anambra over planned Biafra protest The police warned parents and guardians to advise their children or wards not to join any form of protest. It assured law abiding Deltans and other residents of the state of their safety and advised them go about their legitimate business. Meanwhile, residents of Abia state and its neighbours are reportedly living in serious fear following a statement credited to a faction of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) declaring support for the sit-at-home order from the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB’s order is to be implemented on Friday, September 23 in spite of an alleged heavy presence of security operatives and the arrest of some agitators on Thursday, September 22. MASSOB’s statement issued by factional leader Uchenna Madu reportedly reported in panic buying of foodstuff and other commodities as fear of violence grew across Abia, a city in the state.
